New job
Starting Tuesday, September 1st, I will work for Dutch company Keylane as a medior Java developer. Keylane provides software and services for the insurance- and pension industry. The application I will be working on is named ‘Lifetime’. It has a history of more than 25 years and does a lot of heavy lifting in the world of Dutch pensions, storing pension data and making all required calculation on it.
The team of developers is small, around 8 people. Apart from the development team there is an army of consultants who form the bridge between Keylane and Dutch pension providers. These colleagues are the prime users of the application, thoughtfully handling their feedback is an essential part of the work.
The other part of the work is keeping the integrity of the application intact amid all required changes and updates. I had great conversations with team members during the interview process. There’s a ton of experience, up to the early 2000’s, and there is definitely passion about what has been created since. I’m proud to be a member of this team and I can’t wait to start.
